Marjorie Hall Newman, 87, returned to her Heavenly Father, January 17, 1994.

Born May 18, 1906 in Rochdale, Lancshire, England to Albert and Betsy Cawkwell Hall. Married William C. Newman on November 19, 1932; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died August 8, 1988. She came to American with her mother as a young girl of 23 on February 23, 1929. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She was in the opera in England when she was a young girl. She had the most wonderful sense of humor and wit about her, she loved everyone she knew and everyone loved her. She loved to travel and always looked forward to family vacations and trips back to England to see her relatives.

Survived by two sons and two daughters, Robert H. Newman, David W. (Colleen) Newman, Kathleen (Richard) Gledhill, Linda (Theodore) Pevear; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 21, 1994 at 12 noon at Murraydale Ward, 6300 So. 300 East. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., and Friday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: West Jordan Cemetery.
