NAPPANEE, Ind. — Marvin H. Willman, 62, died Wednesday morning at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 29, 1944, in Reading, Pa., to Howard and Charlotte (Brintzenhoff) Willman. He married Ruth Ann Pletcher Aug. 3, 1968. He grew up in Boyertown, Pa., where he graduated from Boyertown High School. He attended and graduated from Zion Bible Institute in East Providence, R.I.
He pastored a church in Northfield, Vt., before moving to Nappanee. He was employed for several years with Associates Financial Services. For the past 25 years, he was a taxi driver for the Amish community. In his younger years, he was a probation officer in Marshall County and served as director of Nappanee Open Door. He was active with the Elkhart County Foster Parent Association and previously served as president. He and his wife were foster parents for 16 years. He attended Northwood Chapel, Nappanee, and was involved in the church missions department. He enjoyed music and served as a church pianist, played the accordion and enjoyed singing. He is survived by his wife; a son, Todd (April) Willman, Nappanee; a daughter, DeAnna (Brad) Neidhamer, Elkhart; two brothers, Barry (Shirley) Willman and Dennis (Nancy) Willman, both of Oley, Pa.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Ronald, Daniel, Clarence and Thomas. Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Northwood Chapel, 28220 C.R. 52, Nappanee. Services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions in the deceased's name may be given to Northwood Chapel Mission Department. Arrangements are being handled by Thallemer, Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, Mishawaka.
