Funeral services for August Henry Oye, 69, Longview, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Dicks Funeral Home, Broadlands, wit Rev. Edward York officiating.
Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, near Broadlands. Friends may call Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Oye died at noon Friday (June 21, 1963) at Mercy Hospital, Urbana, where he had been a patient for four days.
He was born April 1, 894, in Tuscola, son of Catherine Smith and August Henry Oye Sr. He married Iva Chapman of Longview Nov. 27, 1917. They spent most of their married lives near Longview. His wife died in September 1962.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Lou Mitsdarffer of Villa Grove; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Ruth King, Mrs. Bert Leonard and Martha Oye, all of Tuscola. Three sisters preceded him in death.
Note: Family members have said his middle name was Heinrich, the German spelling of Henry.
