Christine Eklund, of Mora, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. She was 53 years old.
Private family inturment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in rural Isle.
On Monday, November 5, 2018, Christine P. Eklund, devoted mother of two daughters, passed away at age 53 in Minneapolis, MN surrounded by her family, friends, and lots of love.
Christine was born on April 23, 1965, in Minneapolis MN, to Don and Karin (Ranem) Smith. On September 17, 1988, she married Craig Mitchell Eklund. They lived in Fridley, MN and then Isle, MN in the early years of their marriage until they moved to Mora, MN in 1994. They raised two beautiful daughters (Jessica and Jenna) together until Craig passed in 2002.
Christine was a generous soul with a passion for helping other people. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, reading her bible, and watching football. Most of all, she enjoyed being a mother and would do anything for her family.
Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Craig and father-in-law, Norman.
She is survived by her friend, Joshua L; daughters, Jessica (Josh) Swenson and Jenna Eklund; mother, Karin; father, Don (Marylin); brothers, Dwayne (Carla), Steve (Mindy), Jason; sister, Jaime; mother-in-law, Helen; brothers-in-law, Clyde (Dawn), Chris (Joy), Clayton (Tonja); and sisters-in-law, Julie (Kerry), Joan (Kirk), Janine (Philip) . She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
A small burial was held at Lakeside Cemetery in Isle, MN on Nov 11, 2018 at 1:00pm for family. A celebration of life for everyone who loved Christine will be held at a later date.
