Kimberly "Kimi" Junko Burke was born on 29 April 1972 in Napa Valley, CA. Her parents Al and Junko raised her in San Diego, California where she spent most of her life. She attended Samuel F.B. Morse High School where she played soccer and softball and loved to hang out with friends. Soon after high school, she got married and had son, Joseph and left San Diego. Two years and a divorce later, she moved back to San Diego as a single mother working two jobs, attending college, and volunteering at her son's local baseball park in order to support him.

Once her son got older and started a family of his own, she found Jason Christy, who became her husband. Although married for a year before her passing, they loved and lived together as if they had their whole lives.

She also loved to travel and experience new things surrounded by the people she loved. She was always looking for new adventure.

Passing on 19 October 2018, she was surrounded by the family and friends who loved her. Her four year battle with cancer had come to a close, ending her suffering, coming to peace.

In addition to husband Jason and son Joseph, she left behind three grand children, Ellie, Aleah, Alana; step daughter Morgan; and daughter-in-law, Macy. She loved them dearly and will always be remembered by them.
