Dorothy R. AbareDorothy R. Abare, 69, of 79 Wood St., Keene, died May 23, 2005, at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., after a brief illness.

She was born in Keene June 2, 1935, daughter of Timothy and Eva (Labounty) Coffey. She was a lifelong resident of Keene and attended St. Joseph Regional School and graduated from Keene High School.

Mrs. Abare worked for Toyota-Volvo of Keene for 18 years as an administrative assistant.

She was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Parish in Keene.

Mrs. Abare was a member of the Gordon-Bissell Post 4 American Legion Auxiliary in Keene.

She enjoyed crafts and being with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Robert G. Abare of Keene; two sons, Bruce Abare of Keene and Gary Abare of Chicopee, Mass.; and a daughter, Linda J. Russell of Keene.

Mrs. Abare also is survived by two granddaughters, Brianna Abare and Brandi Abare.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church, 185 Main St., Keene. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to call Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court St., Keene.

The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Mrs. Abare’s memory to the Paratuberculosis Awareness and Crohn’s Research Association Inc., Box 16219, Temple Terrace, FL 33687-6219.
