Winifred immigrated to the USA on June 24th in 1862 traveling on the ship "The Escort" from Liverpool. She went to Great Barrington, Massachusetts, to her Aunt Catherine Nolan Norton's. Aunt Catherine was Winifred's father's (Peter Nolan's) sister, who had immigrated and was married to Patrick Norton.
James Quinn and "Winny" Nolan were married 20 February 1870 in Lee, Massachusetts. She eventually settled in North Canaan, Connecticut. Winifred and James had 3 girls and 3 boys:
