L.G. Abels, 72 years old, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Golden Age Nursing Center in Dublin, Texas.
Born July 19, 1946, in Baird, Texas to Jesse Paul Abels and Hattie Irene Barnes Abels.
He married Barbara Ann Corley December 29, 1964. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2008.
He was also preceded in death by three grandsons, Michael Aaron McLearen, Justin Robert Phillips, and Mason Chance Abels; son-in-law, Marvin Moncrief; and siblings, Delbert Abels, Xyrepha Horrell, Elizabeth Burch, Pauline Power, and Wanda Simmons.
He is survived by sons, Russell Abels and wife, Gayle, and Lonnie Abels and wife, Denese; daughters, Lori Henson and husband, Tim, and Joyce Moncrief; grandchildren, Gary McLearen and wife, Kristen, Lonnie Abels Jr. and wife, Samantha, Easton Abels, Amanda Moncrief, Michaela Moncrief, Dakota Abels and wife, Darian, Haley Phillips, Kayla Abels, Travis Abels, Jacob Abels, and Tara Abels. great-grandchildren, Rayleen Phillips, Josilyn Phillips, Madiah Harris, Christian Abels, and Mason Abels; siblings, Bobby Abels, Troy Abels, Roy Abels, Melba Townzen, Francis Abels Scalf, Loraine Cryer, Imagene Mitchell, and Cookie Breshers; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
L.G. lived in the De Leon area most all of his life. He was employed as a cross country truck driver for many decades. L.G. loved traveling all over the country for work. He loved his dogs and his family dearly. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
