He was the son of Dennis and Ella (Roethlisberger) Diller. On Jul 14, 1956, he married Mary L. Stemen, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons: Michael (Christine), Randy (Mary) and Jon (Lisa) Diller; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Diller; twin sister, Marian Busick; a sister-in-law, Doris Diller; and nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Robert; a daughter linked below; four brothers: three linked below and Harold (Marian) Diller; and parents-in-law: Elmer and Harriet Stemen.
A 1952 graduate of the first consolidated class of Pandora Gilboa High School, he was a U. S. Army veteran. He retired from McGee Grain, Bluffton, in 1996, and had previously held positions in feed sales, elevator operations, along with working for the Village of Columbus Grove. He was a handy man that could fix or build most anything and was always willing to provide his skills for anyone in need. He was a life-time fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. He was also a member of the CG Lions Club and enjoyed his many years of driving school bus for extracurricular activities especially the Cross Country team. His faith was a huge part of his daily life. He was a member of the St Johns United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove, and was active as a youth director, Sunday school teacher, trustee, and lay speaker. He had a great influence on many of the youth that he enjoyed sharing his faith with over the years including his children.
Services will be at the St Johns United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove, with Pastor Gary Ginter officiating. Burial will follow in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
