Captain Steve Kime, US Navy (Ret) was the son of Martin Anthony and Lila Mae Kime. He earned his Bachelor's degree in international studies from the University of Louisville in 1962 and was commissioned in the US Navy. He was assigned to the submarine service until transitioning to naval intelligence. He received masters and doctorate degrees from Harvard University and was the naval attache to the Soviet Union from 1983 to 1985. His last assignment before retiring was as the director of the division of US and International Studies at the US Naval Academy. Survivors include his wife, four children, nine grandchildren and a sister.
