Paul Ellis Alexander, Sr., 87, of Avondale, LA, passed away, Saturday, October 27, 2018 at West Jefferson Medical Center.
Visitation is Friday, November 2, 2018 at Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road, Summit, MS 39666 from 10:30AM until services at 2:00PM.
Burial will follow in Hollywood cemetery.
Paul Ellis Alexander, Sr., 87, of Avondale, LA passed away October 27, 2018 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Paul was born September 18, 1931 in Walthall County, MS. He was the son of Ellis and Minnie Lee Dunaway Alexander. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pricedale, MS. Paul enjoyed spending time with family and taking pictures. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Germany.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Rita Ann Alexander/Farmer/Mercier, three brothers, L.T. Alexander, Jimmy R. Alexander, Talmadge R. Alexander, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willie L. and Mary Vera Newton May.
He is survived by his wife of 63 wonderful years, Shirley Ann May Alexander, two sons, Paul Alexander, Jr. (Norma Settles Alexander), David Alexander (Leanne Whitney Alexander), two daughters, Rhonda Lynn Giovengo (Dennis), Shirley Faye Thomas (Scott), three brothers, Arthur Alexander (Bobbie), John Alexander, Earl Alexander (Nellie), baby sister Toy Alexander Johnson Buie, sister-in-law Helen Alexander, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held Nov. 2, 2018 at Sharkey Funeral Home, Summit. Visitation will be from 11 am - 2 pm. Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 pm with Bro. Thomas "Tebo" Wicker officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery.
