ARLENE SHAW CLARK (1930-2018)

Went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 26, 2018.

Arlene and her identical twin sister Nadine were born on February 5, 1930 to Cora and Clifford Shaw in Enid, OK. Their older sister Melba was surprised to get two new sisters. She grew up in Enid and they graduated from Enid High School in 1948. Her mother remarried a farmer, Uel Coffman, and eventually moved to southern Kansas. Arlene met and married Buford “Boots” Clark, Jr. of Borger, TX. There they had two sons, Mike and Tom, before moving to Tarrytown, NY. After a couple of years they moved down south to Macon, GA where they had their daughter, Robin. From Macon, they moved to Charlotte, NC for a few years before moving back to Macon, GA. They remained in Georgia until 1970 when they transferred again to Memphis, TN. In Memphis, she trained and worked as a Real Estate agent, and later as an office manager with the US Treasury department. When her marriage to Boots Clark ended, she took the opportunity to move back to her beloved Oklahoma. She retired in Oklahoma City from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in 1995. About a decade later she was diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer’s and battled with this disease until her death. She is remembered for her love of card games, and kind, cheerful disposition which she kept until the very end. She was the best patient to all that cared for her. She was always cooperative and responded with a smile.

She is survived by her sister: Melba Lou Brickman, and Melba’s children: Gary Brickman and his wife Connie, and Linda Brickman Ross of Enid, OK.; Arlene’s deceased twin sister Nadine Price’s children: Jimmy Ray Shepherd, Connie Attard and her husband Steve Attard, Rick Shepherd and his wife Rosemary, and Doug Harris; also by her step sister, Marge Ayers of Portland, OR.

Arlene’s surviving immediate family includes: son, Michael Alan Clark of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and his children: Dillan Reese Clark and wife Missey, Austin Michael Clark and Katelyn Clark. Her son, Thomas William Clark and wife Alyce Miles Clark of Germantown, TN and their son Jackson Nolan Clark. Her daughter, Robin Clark Haynes of Oklahoma City, OK and her children Mikayla Lynn Haynes and Jacob Clark Haynes, and other extended family members. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Pastor Steven Meier officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Enid Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.

Rest in the hands of God. Arlene, we will miss you until we see you again.
