Anna Elisabeth Rom married Hans Jonassen Asheim. Together they ran a farm at Soma near Sandnes in Rogaland. She had many interests. She was strongly engaged in what social role the country women played in the community. She was for many years a member of Høyland farmer women's club, and for eight years leader of Rogaland farmer women's club. She was in great demand as a lecturer, and wrote newspaper articles, poems and hymns. The poems tell about her strong religious commitment, her feelings for nature and her interest in daily life in her native district.
