She was born May 27, 1905, in Thomasville to William and Emma Spaugh.
Most of her life was spent in Winston - Salem . She attended local schools. She was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 38 years service. She was the oldest member of Pinedale Christian Church.
Surviving are a son Richard Hege and wife, Betty of Winston - Salem, two granchildren, Charles Steven Hege and wife, Brenda, and Karen Cole and husband Randy; four great-grandchildren, Brian Hege and wife Kristie, Wesley Hege , Austin Cole, and Tyler Cole.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, Feb. 25, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Pinedale Christian Church by Bill McKenzie and Bob McCaskill. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Vogler and Sons Main St Chapel.
