Della Welch unexpectedly passed away two days after her 96th birthday in Long Beach, CA. She was born Della Rosella Bales on October 26, 1922 in Waynesville, MO to William Franklin Bales and Martha Jane York, she was one of their eight children. While attending Central Missouri State College she met her future husband Ralph W. Welch, Jr. and they were married August 3, 1948 in Waynesville, MO. They moved to Clovis, NM in 1948 and then to Norwalk, CA in 1956 and then to Downey, CA in 1960, which was her home until her death. She had been a member of Downey United Methodist Church since 1960. Della was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Della leaves behind her loving husband Ralph W. Welch, Jr. and her loving son Wayne R. Welch. Her body was laid to rest at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, CA. Services were private.
