MARY IDA BRANCH, 60, of Las Vegas, N.M., and formerly of Mora died Thursday at the Northeastern Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born Nov. 9, 1939, to Benjamin Gandert and Isabelita Romero Gandert in Las Vegas, N.M. She married Joseph R. Branch on Sept. 5, 1964, in Albuquerque. She was a member of St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Mora. She worked as a business manager for the Mora Independent School District. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Henry Gandert; and her mother-in-law, Grace Branch. She is survived by her husband, Joseph R. Branch of Las Vegas; a daughter, Loretta Vigil and husband Herman of Guadalupita; sons Ted Gandert and wife Gladys, and Andrew Gandert, all of Hastings, Neb., and Larry Branch and wife Melisa of Valdosta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; brothers Joe Gandert and wife Rose of LeDoux, William Gandert and wife Donnie of Mora, Ben Gandert, and Robert Gandert and wife Carmelita, all of Albuquerque; and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Rogers Mortuary in Las Vegas. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Mora. Burial will follow at the Mora Cemetery. Rogers Mortuary, Las Vegas.
