Mrs. Jean Copas, 78, died Friday, May 17, 2007, at the Sumner Regional Medical Center, Gallatin, Tenn. She was born April 15, 1929, in Monroe County and was a daughter of the late Roosevelt Bartley and Gladys Richardson Bartley. She was a member of the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ and retired after 37 years at Key Work Clothes.

Survivors include her husband, Boyd Copas, whom she married on May 1, 1948; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Debbie Copas of Tompkinsville; and a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Kenny Emmert of Tompkinsville; eight grandchildren: Kelly Emmert, Johnny and Christie Lyons, Kirby and Valorie Copas, Andy and Sandra Copas and Kacey Williams; seven great-grandchildren: Kelley Williams, Octavia Copas, Conner Richardson, Chandra Copas, Kenslee Williams, John Reece Lyons and Katie Ryann Copas.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jo Nell Proffitt.

Burial will be in the Old Mt. Herman Cemetery.
