Melbia Reagan Gilcrease passed to her Heavenly home on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the age of 88.

She was born on July 27, 1930 in Baskin, LA to Lydia Lillian Cook Reagan and Oscar Reagan.

Melbia held a variety of sales jobs. She and her husband owned and operated a small grocery store in Shreveport for many years. Melbia loved birds and flowers, especially hummingbirds and roses. She had quite the green thumb. She could take a stem cut from a rose bush, stick it in the ground and before you knew it, that stem would have grown into a beautiful blooming rose bush. She loved cooking and hosting large family gatherings. She never used any measurements so when someone would ask for her recipe they would be told a little of this and a little of that. Melbia had the sweetest smile and an even sweeter spirit.

Melbia loved her family and church family dearly. She was an active member of Church on the Rock and was a powerful prayer warrior.

Melbia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Benjamin Gilcrease; a Grandson, Christopher Dennis Garlington; and a brother, Larry Reagan.

She is survived by four daughters, Melinda Foster (Lynn) of Bossier City, LA; Cherri Bell (Richard) of Lomita, CA; Sharon Walling (Terry) of Palestine, TX; and Judy Covington (Dan) of DeBerry, TX. She is also survived by one son, Aubrey Gilcrease of Shreveport, LA. Additionally, she leaves behind two brothers Bill Reagan (Voncil), Len Reagan (Mavis), two sisters Shirley Remore, Ellen Faye Lee, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren.
