Dessa W.H. Shaffer, age 94, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018, in Stephenville, Texas.

She was born on June 21, 1924, in Comanche County, Texas, to Jess G. and Oda (Butler) Warren.
She was united in marriage to Claude Shaffer in Graham, Texas. Dessa was devoted to her husband, son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Dessa was a homemaker and a master seamstress and quilter. She was kind and loving and beloved not only by her family, but by everyone who knew her. She loved doing the Lord’s work; and she was a friend and “rock” to everyone. Dessa was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Stephenville, Texas, and the way she lived her life with her devotion to God and service to others was a wonderful example for all.

She is survived by her son, Lonnie Hilliard of Brownwood; two granddaughters, Natalie Fanning and husband, Mark, of Graham and Brande Hilliard and fiancé, Lance Moore, of Dallas; four great-grandchildren, Misti, Stacey, Justin, and Morgan; seven great-great grandchildren, Chase, Baylee, Savannah, Ty, Taylor, J.T. and Everlee; a sister, Gwynn Woodall of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Shaffer; her parents, Jess and Oda (Butler) Warren; and one brother, Nolan Warren.
