Frank Brabec Jr., age 92, passed away October 23, 2018, in Council Bluffs.
Frank was born September 14, 1926, in Ohiowa, Neb., to the late Frank and Henrietta (Kulicek) Brabec. He graduated high school in 1943, at North Bend, Neb., and enlisted in the Navy at 17 years old, and was a combat veteran of WWII. Frank married Shirley Mae Mines on June 1, 1946, and had five children. After attending the University of Nebraska, he went to work for OPPD. He retired from OPPD and spent several years working with his sons in the automotive parts business. He enjoyed playing the accordion, listening to Czech polka radio shows and collecting one man's treasures.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Shirley Mae Brabec; his three sisters, Henrietta Garrison, Norma Kasper, and Helen Gleason; and his grandson, Frank Brabec.
Frank is survived by his children, Carol Cross, Frank (Colleen) Brabec, Bruce (Angela) Brabec, all of Council Bluffs, Marta Brabec, Jerry (Patrick) Brabec, all of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Leah Cross, Kevin Cross, Wendy Doner, Andy Brabec, Bryan (Megan) Brabec, Michelle (Chuck) Vaughn, and Abigail (Alexis) Brabec; great-grand-children; nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private memorial and burial at Lewis Township Cemetery
