FUNERAL SUNDAY FOR MRS. ANNIE E. FOX
---Funeral services for Mrs. Annie E. FOX, 70, widow of the late William A. FOX of Ethel, who died suddenly early yesterday morning [13 May 1949] at the home of her daughter, Mrs. O. H. KOHLER at Carrollton [Missouri] following a short illness, will be held at 2:30 o'clock, Sunday afternoon, May 15, at the graveside in the Old Chariton Cemetery.
---Services will be conducted by the Rev. A. W. GRIMSHAW.
---Mrs. FOX was born near LaPlata, Mo., Jan. 30, 1879, the daughter of Daniel and Barbara Catherine Shumaker ROBERTS.
---She leaves her daughter, Mrs. KOHLER, of Carrollton; two sons, Olen A. of Ethel, and George C. of Marceline; two brothers, Sam ROBERTS of Macon, and Beaman R. ROBERTS of Buhl, Idaho, two sisters, Mrs. Ora BONIFIELD of Elmer, and Mrs. Walter BURKHART of the state of California; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
---One son, Opal J., preceded his mother in death.
---The body was taken to the Gilleland Funeral Home in New Cambria, and will lie in state at the home of the son in Ethel until the hour of services.

NOTE: Annie's Death Certificate #15164 (attached as a photo) & her obituary gives her father as Daniel Roberts and her mother as Barbara Shoemaker but they were not married until January 28, 1882, almost three years later. Barbara and her first husband, William M. Broyles were divorced on October 13, 1876 in Adair County, MO. See William M. Broyles memorial for a copy of his divorce from Barbara. It appears that neither William M. Broyles or Daniel Sheldon Roberts are the father of Annie E. Fox.
FAMILY RECORDS in the possession of a daughter of Clara Belle Roberts Beason state that: George Ann Eugenia MILLER was born....January 31, 1878. Annie's mother, Cassie, had worked for a family named ROBINSON. Since Cassie had the name of Henry ROBINSON written throughout her Bible, most of Annie's family believe that Henry ROBINSON, was most likely, her biological father. We may never know the truth for certain.
