George Jerold (Jerry) Stanton Bailey, 89 passed away at his home on October 24, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Jerry was born June 30, 1929, in Wellsville, Utah to John Bradshaw and Isabell Stanton Bailey. He graduated from South Cache High School.

Jerry married Sherry Lee Long on June 9, 1952, in the Logan LDS Temple.

Jerry was in the U.S. Army and received military honors on December 11, 1952.

In 1962, he moved his family to Sunset, Utah where he resided until his death. Jerry was employed with Cream O’Weber as a milk man and ultimately purchased his own milk truck and business under Winder Dairy for 28 years. He then purchased and owned Bailey's Norge Village laundromat in Salt Lake City for 10 years and completed his employment of 16 years with Sports Authority in the Newgate Mall, until their closing.

Jerry was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He held many callings.

He enjoyed music, dancing, fishing and loved the Utah Jazz and Utah State Aggies.

Jerry was loved by many. His light hearted look on life made others love him more. He served others in many capacities. He always worked hard and had a smile for everyone. He was an incredible example to all of us. We always felt comfort being in his company. His laugh will be missed. Jerry loved God, his wife, his family and his country.

Jerry is survived by his wife Sherry, his son David Lynn (Emily) Bailey, four daughters; LeAnn (J.R.) Stoney, Kim Meredith, Trena (Dave) Derricott, Sherry Fawn (Kevin) Coker, brothers; Lon Bailey and Darrell Bailey and his sister, Ellen Page, 15 grandsons and 14 granddaughters and many great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Tami Wilder and granddaughter Emily Bailey, parents, and brothers; Rulon Bailey, Homer Bailey and Lynn Bailey.
