He was born July 11, 1861, at Nettle Hill, Greene County, a son of John and Ellen Crouse Sharp He lived near Rogersville until 1905 when he moved to Canonsburg. A farmer, he resided in the Canonsburg district for more than 40 years, moving to Wycombe seven years ago.
On November 26, 1886, he married Liva Gale at Broughton, Kans. She died one year later, on November 26, 1887. One son was born, but he died in his youth.
He was a charter member of the Canonsburg Christian Church.
Surviving are one brother Thomas Sharp, Oak Spring Road, Canonsburg, R. D. 1, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received after 7 o'clock tonight at the Ritchie and Piatt Funeral Home, Washington, where services will be held Saturday at 3 p. m. in charge of Rev. Lawrence C. Hay, of the First Christian Church here. Interment will be in Oak Spring Cemetery.
