Martin L. Brenner has no tombstone. He is probably buried here or adjacent Evergreen Cemetery. Martin L. Brenner was a Union soldier with the 77th Regiment Pennsylvania Infantry, Company I. He enlisted Feb. 27, 1865 in Harrisburg, PA and mustered in on March 1, 1865. He ended up in Victoria, Texas with his regiment but got sick and was at the "post hospital" in Victoria when he died. His regiment had left him behind after they received orders on Dec. 5, 1865 to return home. Martin L. Brenner was too sick to go. The Civil War papers from the National Archives and Fold 3 do not reveal where Martin L. Brenner was buried but letters and papers clearly point out he died in Victoria, Texas. No family papers exist to reveal more information. The Victoria Regional History Center does not know his burial site either.
