Elsie Jane Weaver, 78, former resident of Houston, died Saturday February 28, 1953 at 3:45 a.m. in the G.A.R. Home, Swissvale following a lingering illness.
She was born November 16, 1874 at Greensburg, a daughter of the late George W. and Mary Jane Leech Hoch.
he deceased was a life-long resident of the Canonsburg district.
Her husband Joseph B. Weaver died in 1943.
Mrs. Weaver was a member of the Houston Methodist Church and Daughters of Liberty, Pittsburgh.
Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Loretta Murphy, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Josephine McMillen, Canonsburg; Mrs. Rosamond Varley, Washington; two sons, W. Arthur Weaver and Charles L. Weaver both of Houston; four brothers, W. H. Hoch. Oklahoma City, Okla.; George W. Hoch Orion L. Hoch, Oliver W. Hoch, all of Canonsburg; two sisters Mrs. Nellie McCalla, Canonsburg; Mrs. Etta Mohler, Canonsburg. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the William E. Speakman Funeral Home, where, services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in charge of Rev. A. H. Sarrio pastor of the Houston Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oak Spring Cemetery.
