The 1870 Census records Mary as a Domestic Servant, however, her marital status isn't indicated. It's probable she was a widow as she married a second time to Caleb Boss, a 23-year-old Groomsman and Civil War veteran, at Boston on Dec. 7, 1870.
Mary was 52 when she died of heart disease at her home located at 102 Cedar St., in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood. Her husband Caleb, who served in the Navy and with the 54th Massachusetts Infantry during the Civil War, died at the Western Branch of the National Home for Disabled Soldiers in Leavenworth, KS on Aug. 19, 1907.
