Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Coal Valley Township Cemetery. All need to use 60th Street for access to the funeral home.
Ethel was born on November 8, 1927, in Trego, WI, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Roessl) Witt. She married Harold Blaser on April 30, 1947, in Moline. He preceded her in death in 1976. She later married Gordon Hooks in Rock Island and he preceded her in death on August 18, 2006.
Ethel previously worked at the Butterworth Center for several years. She was a former Sunday school teacher at the Salvation Army and active with the League of Mercy. Ethel enjoyed Bingo at the Senior Citizen Center and bowling with her friends in the seniors’ league.
Survivors include her sons, Ed (Joyce) Blaser, Moline, Greg Blaser, Moline, and Brian (Sue) Blaser, Bay City, TX; brother, Walt Witt; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, son, Michael, granddaughter, Jennifer, sisters, Dorothy, Rosie, Evelyn, and Esther, 3 brothers, John, Francis, and Harvey.
