A. HELENE SHIELDS age 84 of Irving, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in a Dallas hospital. Born May 26, 1924 in Blair, Nebraska, she was a retired secretary. She was a resident of Irving for 51 years and was loved by all who met her. Survivors include a daughter, Rebekah Shields of Irving; son, Thomas Shields of Irving; daughter-in-law, Thelma Shields of Keller; grandchildren, Sherry Longenecker and husband John of Irving, Robert H. Shields, Jr. of Irving, Erica Carr and husband Greg of Keller and Roberta Sharp and husband Clint of Katy, Texas; Great-Grandson, Christopher Sharp; and a great granddaughter Bailey Carr of Keller; and one great-grandson on the way. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor J. Don George will officiate. Entombment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association, 1700 Rutherford Lane, Austin, TX 78754.
