M. Aylene Hartley, age 92, of Guthrie, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 23, 2018.

Aylene was born on May 28, 1926, in Nolanville, Texas to Andy Elias and Susan Ida (Bettis) Thompson. She was raised in Texas, attended school in Yoakum, Texas, and graduated from Sinton High School in Sinton, Texas in 1944. She moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and attended Kelham Avenue Baptist Church where she met and married Bill G. Hartley on October 28, 1954. She was employed by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma before having children and later worked for Putnam City Schools.

Bill & Aylene moved their family to Guthrie in 1977. She worked for several years for Guthrie Public Schools before retiring to become a nanny. They attended and faithfully served at First Southern Baptist Church in Guthrie.

Aylene enjoyed cooking. She shared her love of cooking with others by cooking church meals and Falls Creek youth camps for Kelham Avenue and First Southern Baptist in Guthrie. She also enjoyed bird watching, crocheting, being a nanny, and being active in her grandchildren’s lives. Trips to family reunions in Yoakum, Texas, were yearly highlights.

Aylene is preceded in death by her husband Bill G. Hartley of 54 years; her parents; brothers, Jeff Bettis Thompson and Paschal Dietz "Pat" Thompson; sisters, Ellen Frances Thompson, Bessie Sue Thompson, and Mary Louise Glenewinkel.

She is survived by her children Kevin Hartley and wife Janet of Wichita, Kansas and Paul Hartley and wife Traci of Guthrie; six grandchildren: Kati, Karly, Andy, Mark, Aaron, and Ashton Hartley; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. at First Southern Baptist Church, Guthrie with Tracy Scheer officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 26, 2018, from 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.
