The Huntsville Times, Wednesday, January 13, 1937: Mrs. Martin’s Illness Fatal. Aged New Market Woman Dies; Funeral Set Tomorrow. Mrs. Eliza Frances Martin, 76, widow of A. J. Martin, died at the home of her son, W. W. Martin, New Market, Route 2, at 4 o’clock this morning. Funeral services will be held at Cochran cemetery, New Market, at 10:30 o’clock tomorrow morning. The Rev. Mr. Roberts will officiate. Interment will be made there with Laughlin-McCaleb in charge. Pallbearers will be Oak Campbell, Clarence Roden, Virgil Vandiver, G. W. Vandiver, Jim Laxson and Will Pruitt. Mrs. Martin is survived by her son and one brother, Sam Vandiver, of Arkansas. She was a member of the Baptist church.
