Bernice was born Nov. 23, 1916, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Axel and Ruth (Benson) Dufva. She graduated from high school in Omaha, Neb., in 1932. Bernice married Earl Buss at First Covenant Church in St. Paul on Dec. 9, 1953. The couple lived in Claremont until 1996, when they moved to the Minneapolis area to be closer to their son, Daniel.
Bernice loved spending time with her family, playing bridge, and especially enjoyed sharing life’s moments with her grandchildren.
She is survived by son, Daniel Buss, M.D. (Christine) of Minneapolis; and her grandchildren, Cooper (Jessica), Mackenzie, Charles, Albert, Edward, William, and Felix Buss of Minneapolis.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Buss; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Michaelson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Douglas Walters officiating. Interment will be in Claremont Street Cemetery in rural Claremont. Memorials are preferred to First Presbyterian Church in Claremont.
