Ross Frederick Siegle, age 85, of Manhattan, died October 19, 2018, at his residence.

He was born April 26, 1933, in Manhattan, the son of Harold F. and Stella Fay (Blanks) Siegle.

Ross graduated from Manhattan High School, Class of 1951. He graduated from Kansas State College in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology, participated in the ROTC program and was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Ross was a Captain in the U.S. Army and a Cold War Veteran.

Ross was a beloved son, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. His accomplishments include working in the consumer finance industry for Waddell & Reed, Household Finance of Junction City and Avco Finance. He also worked at Sears of Manhattan and Dick Edwards Ford. Ross loved to work and continued his service to the Manhattan community while working at The Manhattan Public Library well into his retirement years.

Ross was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #17.

On June 4, 1955, in Hutchinson, Kansas, Ross was married to Faye N. Reed. Faye survives of Manhattan. Additional survivors include their five children: Rick Siegle and his wife Kendra of Bloomingdale, IL, Vicki Hester of Lone Tree, CO, Wendy Garman of Salina, KS, Tracy Wallace and her husband Larry, Jr. of Clay Center, KS, and Terry Siegle and his wife Robyn of Lenexa, KS; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sherry Ridder and her husband Clayton of Olsburg, KS; one sister-in-law, Darlene Siegle of Manhattan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ross was preceded in death by his parents and by two siblings: Patricia Glenn and Malcolm "Bud" Siegle and by one grandchild, Matthew Wayne Wallace of Clay Center, KS.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2018 prior to the funeral service. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 24th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Reverend Melanie Nord Martin officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.
