Coley Bagwell, age 88, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at his residence in Starkville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Saturday, October 20 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, October 21 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Grant Arinder and Rev. Perry Pugh officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Scott Fortenberry officiating.

Coley was born in Louisville on October 8, 1930, to John Milton and Willie Fulcher Bagwell. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville and was a Shriner. After losing his sight as a young adult, he attended the Mississippi School for the Blind and learned to tune pianos. He owned Bagwell Piano and Furniture Company for many years traveling many miles tuning pianos in churches, schools, and homes.

Coley is survived by four children: Patty Reynolds and husband Dr. Kevin Reynolds of Forest, Mississippi; Corey Bagwell of Starkville, Mississippi; Nancy Hardy and husband Steve also of Starkville; and David Bagwell and wife Shasta of York, Pennsylvania. One of his greatest joys was being “Papaw Coley” to his nine grandchildren: Kur Reynolds (Robbye Anne), Ky Reynolds (Casey), Taylor Hardy, Riley Hardy, Will Hardy, William Bagwell, Coley Bagwell, Dayton Bagwell, and Deacon Bagwell. He is also survived by his brother, Rodney Bagwell and wife Judy and sister-in-law Frances Bagwell all of Louisville. Coley is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Taylor Bagwell; his parents; his brothers James Harold “Bunt” Bagwell and John Milton Bagwell, Jr.; and his sister Jo Ann Miller.

Serving as pallbearers are William Bagwell, Riley Hardy, Will Hardy, Jimmy Bagwell, Ricky Miller, and Dean Wingate. Memorials contributions in honor of Coley may be given to the Lions Club, P. O. Box 425, Louisville, MS 39339
