Marilyn was born Dec. 30, 1932 in Bloomington, a daughter to Frantz C. and Esther M. Koepke Goetsch. She married Homer "Joe" Fields on June 17, 1951 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1961. She married Donald E. Bier on July 15, 1978 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death Dec. 3, 2004.
Surviving are her children, Jeffery Fields, Normal; Cheryl Reichert, Bloomington and Lori (Mark) Rusher, Normal; stepson, Curtis (Deb) Bier; five grandchildren, Aimee Rusher, Andrea (Jesse) Brown, Brendan (Caitlin) Reichert, Austin (June Fehr) Rusher and Bryan (Ashley) Reichert; four great-grandchildren, Amanda, Cameron, Vincent and Anthony, who was born eight hours before she passed; one brother in-law, Roger Huber and a special goddaughter and niece, Vicki Egli.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; four brothers, Russel, Eugene, Wilbur and Ivan; two sisters, Carolyn Marvin and Joyce Huber; stepson, Donn Bier and great-grandson, Tyler.
Marilyn worked at Illinois High School Association (IHSA) for many years as the receptionist, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Marilyn volunteered at Trinity Lutheran School in Parent Teacher League, Trinity Lutheran Church and BroMenn Gift Shop. Marilyn loved her "family" at Normal Fresenius Dialysis Center.
