Robert Walter Everett, Jr. was born in New Orleans on June 13, 1921 and died in Baton Rouge on November 23, 2002 at 81 years of age. His parents were Robert W. Everett, Sr. of Evergreen, LA and the former Katie Peters of Clinton, LA . He was a graduate of Jefferson Military College and Tulane University. He served four years in the Army Air Corps in communications and was honorably discharged with the rank of captain. He was married to the former Marilyn G. Saillard of New Orleans for 49 years. Mr. Everett was instrumental in promoting the streetcar postage stamps that were printed in 1983. Employed by Texaco as a micropaleontologist, he retired in 1985 after 39 years of service. He is survived by one daughter, Robin Everett Jacob. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery), on Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Monday, November 25, 2002 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until service time.
