Charlene S. Anderson, 86 passed away October 15, 2018 after an extended illness in Rockland.
Born in Rockland, February 23, 1932, she was the daughter of Robert Gordon and Arlene Smith Spaulding. She attended schools in Stonington and Thomaston, graduating with honors from Thomaston High School in 1950.

She was employed at the former Brackett’s Drug Store from the time she was in High School until the business was sold. She considered this to be the best job she ever had, as she knew all the people in town, especially the young children. She then worked at McDonald’s Drug Store and later was employed from 1979 to 2000 for Peoples Heritage Bank as a teller, making many friends over the years.

She was known to many for her delicious yeast rolls and love of cooking. She loved spending time with those she loved, listening to her music and going for ice cream. Her children and grandchildren will always love her to the moon and back.

She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Other than her parents, Charlene was pre-deceased by her stepfather Harold Whitehall; brothers Philip Spaulding and Robert Spaulding and his wife Marjorie; daughters Diane A. Henry in 2001 and Carla J. Henry in 2010; son-in-law Russell Elwell and her beloved husband Arthur B. Anderson in 2003.
