Services for Valerie Jean Washington Carr, 26, of 601 Columbia Terrace will be in Star of Hope Baptist Church. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.

She died Wednesday in St. Francis Hospital, after she apparently jumped through a second floor bedroom window at her home.

She was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Co.

Born in St. Louis April 6, 1954, a daughter of Solomon and Bertha Netters Washington, she married James Carr in Peoria in September 1978.

Surviving are her husband, one son, Richard Hampton III of Peoria; her mother of Peoria; three brothers, Archie Shears and Marlin Washington, both of Peoria, and Larry Washington of Chicago; eight sisters, Rosalind Hubbard of Greenville, Miss., Patricia and Sharon Washington, Joyce, Linda, Brenda, Cynthia and Audrey Netters, all of Peoria. Her father and one brother preceded her in death.
