Betty was a nurse’s aide, and worked at Hermann Hospital. She later held a job where she etched glass used for optics. Betty spent her life giving to others, helping family, friends, and neighbors in the Willow Meadows Subdivision, where she lived for over 40 years. She was the primary caregiver for her mother, when she fell ill with leukemia, and for her father. Betty also took loving care of all her nieces and nephews and close family as their special Mom and Babysitter.
Betty learned from a young age how to cook, from generations of wonderful cooks. She was known for her chicken and noodles, liver & onions, chocolate and coconut pies, cookies and homemade candy. There were always special desserts, cakes and cookies at the house for family and friends. Cooking birthday and holiday meals for family and friends was her love. She was a wonderful hostess and cook with her special smile and laugh for all.
Betty traveled with family and friends to many places, including to Grand Lake, Oklahoma; Ruidoso, New Mexico; Texarado Cabin, in Jamestown, Colorado; Rockport, Texas; Hawaii and Nashville Tennessee to name a few.
Betty also loved her pets- birds, dogs Mickey, Sugar, Spice, Mac, Molly, Taffy, and Sara, and cat Punkin. Betty was an Elvis and John Wayne fan and loved to work in her vegetable garden, listen to music, and watch musicals and western movies.
Both family and friends have many wonderful stories of their fun experiences and adventures with Betty. She had a miracle birth and battled her entire life with special needs. She touched our lives, and will be dearly missed by all in her family. Betty was truly God’s gift to our family.
