Mrs. Barbara K. (Shindledecker) Stoops, 71, a resident of The Gardens at Gettysburg and formerly of Rouzerville, PA, died Friday morning, October 12, 2018, in the nursing home.
Born November 7, 1946 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Marie (Kohler) Shindledecker.
Mrs. Stoops was a graduate of Smithsburg High School.
She and her husband, the late Rodney B. “Stoops-z” Stoops, were married on September 22, 1976 in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Stoops died on December 18, 2005.
Mrs. Stoops worked at Moore Business Forms, Thurmont, MD and as a waitress at The Eagles Club, Inc., Waynesboro for many years.
She enjoyed playing bingo, card games, and board games and also attending car shows with her husband.
She is survived by one daughter, Misty M. Weatherly and her husband, Jason of Fairfield, PA; three grandchildren, Zachary, Zoey, and Zane Weatherly; two sisters, Delores Sease and Carol Snyder, both of Waynesboro; her close friend, Leah Radecke of Thurmont, MD; four step-children; and numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael T. Shindledecker; and two step-sons.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
