Lincoln Mother 99, Death Victim
Mrs. Abiline Rembert Smith, 99 died at the family home fourteen miles west of Brookhaven on March 11 following an illness of three months.
Services were conducted from Macedonia Baptist Church on March 12 by Rev. Pinson assisted by Rev. Luther Carlisle under the direction of Hartman's Funeral Home. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Bennie Case with whom she lived, her daughters, Mrs. Leonard Smith, Cobb, Mrs. Abner Case, Caseyville, Mrs. Ollie Smith, Brookhaven, Mrs. Frank Varnado, Homer, La., three sons, Commodore Smith, Brookhaven, Julius Smith, Jackson, Owen Smith, Caseyville, her husband, I. S. Smith died twwenty five years ago. She was the mother of thirteen children having lost three in infancy and her sons Bluford and Hugh Smith died some years ago.
Mrs. Smith was a wonderful mother devoting her long life in making her family happy surrounded in her late years by by nmerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent her entire lifetie in the home in which she and Mr. Smith moved upon their marriage. She was a lifetime member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
