Mexican-American War Veteran: Jordan W. Frazier served in Company "C" of the 2nd Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment, nicknamed "The Salt River Tigers." His service records say he was in Company "K," but the "Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Kentucky: Mexican War Veterans," has him listed as serving in Company "C."
The Salt River Tigers enrolled at Frankfort, Kentucky, on May 23, 1846. They mustered into the Army on June 9, 1846, at Louisville, Kentucky. The only major battle the unit participated in was The Battle of Buena Vista in Mexico, on February 22-23, 1847. However, Jordan was medically discharged on September 30, 1846, most likely due to disease or illness.
