Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for Larry Jordan, age 87, at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, October 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Arcadia. Rev. Jeff Hoffman and Rev. Sid Woodruff will officiate. Interment will follow at Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia.

Larry was born July 30, 1931, in Shreveport, LA to Henderson and Anna Gloer Jordan. He entered into rest on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, in Bossier City with his loving family by his side. Larry was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia. He graduated college with a Bachelor of Science. Larry worked as a banker for many years at First National in Arcadia and then at Planters Bank in Haynesville. He also worked at Homer Memorial Hospital as Hospital Administration.

Before leaving Arcadia, he was an active community volunteer and devoted to the growth of Arcadia through economic development in Bienville Parish. Larry served on the Arcadia Town Council and Board of Commissioners for the Bienville Hospital Service District 2. He received the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce Heritage Award. After moving to Haynesville, he served on the Haynesville Hospital Board.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Henderson and Anna Lesba Glower Jordan.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Betty Lynn Anders Jordan, children; Julie J. Woodruff and husband Sid, Amy J. Holland and husband Dutch, Jennifer Morgan and husband John, and Philip Henderson Jordan and wife Wendy, grandchildren; Jordan Woodruff and wife Jackie, Lauren Miglin and husband Jason, James Holland, Patrick Holland, Bailey Holland, Maggie Morgan Phillips and husband Sam, Molly Morgan, Jack Jordan, and Matt Jordan. Also survived by 5 great-grandsons, sister Gloria Madden, and by numerous other nieces, nephews and close friends.

Pallbearers will be James Holland, Patrick Holland, Jordan Woodruff, Jack Jordan, Matt Jordan, and Luke Madden. Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Ozley, Joe Storey, Curtis McCreary, Robert Reeder, Dr. Sam Abshire, John Turner, Jack Batson and Trace Talbert.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Arcadia, 2249 Hazel St, Arcadia, LA 71001, or to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
