JoAnn Montgomery Pointer, 82 of Decatur, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who was loved by all went home to be with the Lord on October 9, 2018. Her visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home and the service will be on Thursday at
2 p.m. at the funeral home with Brother Mark Milwee officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Pointer was born on August 26, 1936 in Alabama to Catherine and Aaron Montgomery, both deceased. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy T. Pointer. She is survived by her daughters, Kay Pointer Clark of Decatur, Cathy Matheny and husband, Bruce of Moulton and Susan Jones and husband, Casey of Hartselle; her brother, Robert Montgomery and wife, Sandra of Huntsville; her five grandchildren,
Kristi Hill (Michael), Kevin Kitchens (Melissa), Jonathan Matheny (Jessica), Kaleb Jones and Jenna Jones; and her six great-grandchildren, Evan, Peyton, MaKenzie, Konner, Brooke and Janie.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hill, Kaleb Jones, Kevin Kitchens, Rod Montgomery, Jonathan Matheny and Griffen Steelman. Honorary pallbearers will
be great-grandsons, Evan, Peyton and Konner. Special thanks to Alacare Home Health and Hospice of Decatur.
