Mary Lou Peters was born on August 10, 1931 and passed away on October 8, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Mary Lou Peters, daughter of Jesse and Beulah Clagg was born August 10, 1931 in McClain county Oklahoma. She was one of 6 children, Margie Bell, Mary, Michael, Ozella, Willie, and Sue. The Clagg family were farmers and Mary learned to work hard at a young age. They moved about some, spending some time in California, settling back in Oklahoma. Mary enjoyed nature, playing basketball, and music, learning to play the piano. During her youth, Mary heard of God's amazing love for her and how to experience a relationship with Him through Jesus, a relationship she would cherish her whole life.

After graduating from high school, Mary took training as a nurse. She met her husband (Forrest D. Peters) one Sunday morning when the bus dropped her off at the wrong church or perhaps the right church as it was the beginning of 66 (married 11/21/1952) love filled years. They married shortly after meeting, eventually having 3 children Donna, Carla and Jimmy. Mary loved children. She taught Sunday school for many years, sharing the life stories from the Bible of the encounters of men and women with almighty God, her heavenly father. She loved to play the piano and worship her Savior thru music.

Jesus’ love shone through her life as she selflessly served the people in her life. At the end of her days here, as sickness stripped away physical and mental ability, what remained was her sweet, gentle, grateful spirit that had blessed so many who knew her. Now she is with her Lord, seeing His face, hearing Him say “Well done, welcome home.” This is not the end of her story, but the beginning of her eternal adventure where those in Christ will see her again. Together they will experience Christ’s peace, joy, and love throughout eternity.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper with services at Bethany First Church-Nazarene Chapel, 6789 NW 39th Expy. Bethany, OK 73008.
