William Spooner Jr, formerly of Beaver Falls, died 27 April 1982 in the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center, Brighton Twp, where he had been a resident for four years. Born 14 April 1889 in East Palestine, Ohio, son of the late William and Mary Lindsay Spooner Sr, he was a resident of the Beaver Falls area most of his life. He was formerly employed as a janitor by the Beaver Falls Area School District for 32 years, retiring in 1956; a member of the Beaver Falls Owls Club and Fireman's Association of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his wife Vida Erb Spooner in 1953. Surviving are two sons, Albert, West Mayfield, and Clarence, Mission Viejo, California; a daughter, Miss Zelma Spooner, Beaver Falls; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Jones, Patterson Township, and Mrs. Lester (Mildred) Tutwiller, Rochester. Services were held at Campbell's of Beaver Falls with the Rev John Spahr, pastor of First Methodist Church, Beaver Falls, officiating. Interment was in Beaver Falls Cemetery, Chippewa Township.
