Dowie Ward Banks of Holly Road, Campton, Kentucky, husband of Martha Rose Banks departed this life Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his residence, at the age 92 years, 8 months and 8 days. He was a son of the late Finley and Sallie Little Banks born in Mary, Wolfe County, Kentucky on January 28, 1926. He was a United States World War II Army Veteran, receiving a Purple Heart and was a member of the Cox Lodge 464. He was also a retired foreman at the State Highway Department and a farmer. He is survived by his wife, Martha Rose Banks of Holly Road, Campton, Kentucky; one son, Adrian Banks and wife, Sandy of Campton, Kentucky; one daughter, Brenda Banks of Campton, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Chris Combs, Quentin Banks, Shannon Banks, Adrian Clint Banks and Josh Banks; six great-grandchildren, Sagan Banks, Waylan Banks, Lauren Banks, Haley Combs, Allie Combs and Alyssa Alcorn. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald Augie "Donnie" Banks; his parents, Finley and Sallie Little Banks; two brothers, Malcolm Banks and Quinten Banks and five sisters, Mabel Watkins, Thelma Hatton, Melissa Dickey, Bessie Griffith and Margie Miller. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Serving as pallbearers; Chris Combs, Quintin Banks, Shannon Banks, Clint Banks, Rondell Banks and Allen Banks. Serving as honorary pallbearers; Bill Faulkner, Jason Banks, Lonnie Joe Rose, Bill Dean, Charles Ray Bradley, Bruce Hatton, Bill Graham and Wayne Back.
