Miss Emily Astrid Adams, age 21 of Siloam Springs, Arkansas passed away Thursday October 4, 2018 in Siloam Springs from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A daughter of Todd and Deborah Adams, she was born February 16, 1997 in France having lived most of her life in Indonesia and the last two years in Arkansas. She was a student pursuing a nursing degree at the John Brown University in Siloam Springs. She was a member of the First Alliance Church of Toccoa.

Survivors include her parents, Todd and Deborah Adams of Indonesia; two brothers and sister-in-law, Sullivan and Natalie Adams and Beau Adams of Toccoa; one sister, Jordan Adams of Toccoa Falls; grandparents Virgil and Bonnie Adams and Jim and Ann Hemminger of Toccoa; a number of cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018, 1 O’clock p.m. at the First Alliance Church of Toccoa with the Reverend Virgil Adams, the Reverend Jim Hemminger and the Reverend Todd Adams officiating.

The family will receive friends at the First Alliance Church on Friday, October 12, 2018, 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:15 p.m. until 12:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to John Brown University, University Advancement, 2000 West University Street, Siloam Springs, Arkansas 72761, designated to the School of Nursing in memory of Miss Emily Adams.

Interment will follow in Toccoa City Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Miss. Emily Astrid Adams.

Emily Adams was the 21-year-old daughter of Alliance international workers Todd and Debbie Adams, who serve in Indonesia and are currently on home assignment. Emily was returning from Certified Nursing Assistants training to John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where she was a nursing student when the tragic accident occurred. Todd was on tour in Silver Spring, Maryland, when he received the news at 2:30 a.m. Friday. He flew back to Toccoa, Georgia, later that morning to join Debbie. They will then travel to Arkansas along with their three other children.

“We are grateful for your prayers,” Debbie writes. “We are so very sad but holding on to the hand of our loving Jesus. Our minds are running through all the beautiful memories of our dear Emily. We are asking Jesus to fill our emptiness as we grieve the loss of our precious daughter and asking Him to remind us of all the truths of His Word.”

Please pray for God’s nearness and comfort for Todd, Debbie, and their other three children as they grieve and cope with this tragedy. Pray also for for the many decisions, logistics, and strength to walk through these days ahead.
