Jeremiah Beckner was born 1820, Kentucky. Jeremiah was a farmer but he made his money mostly in trading,. He was a commission agent for that area and gathered up tudor-keys, hogs, cattle, and drove them to market in Brookville and Cincinnati. Jeremiah came to Posy Township and dreamed of building a home that would reflect southern hospitality. Jeremiah's dream came true in 1853 when he completed his mansion, after completing his home Jeremiah passed away in 1857 only five years later at the age of 37. The house stayed in the Buckner-Nelson family for generations to come. Unfortunately the Buckner-Nelson house burnt to the ground in November of 1974 but a new house was completed in 1976 which sits directly infront of Nelson Cemetery where Jeremiah is buried
