Milton Reed Bowser Sr., 70, of 605 Trumbull Ave., Girard, Ohio, a Rimersburg native, died at 11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown, Ohio. Born Jan. 3, 1931, in Kissinger Mills, he was a son of William Dale and Minerva Reed Bowser. Mr. Bowser was employed for 29 years by Sheet & Tube Steel and LTV, both in Youngstown, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Girard Eagles Club Aerie 2172. Mr. Bowser was a Protestant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. Mr. Bowser was married Aug. 26, 1961, to the former Betty A. Kilgore, who survives. Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Milton R. Bowser Jr. and Lori of Girard, Ohio, and Gregory D. and Kim Bowser of Memphis, Tenn. He also is survived by a brother, Arnold Bowser Sr. of Rimersburg. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowser was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence Bowser, Ted Bowser, John Bowser and William Bowser; and seven sisters, Mable Guntrum, Minnie Yates, Bessie Ramsey, Melva Rankin, Ruth Steele and infant twins Verda and Verna Bowser. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Varner Funeral Home of Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Donnie Clayton, pastor of Baker Street Church of God in Rimersburg, officiating. Interment will follow in Rimersburg Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
