Daughter of Henry Mitchel Thorne and Cornelia Kelsey.

In 1875, Mary M. Thorne, aged 25, was living in Flatbush, Kings, NY, in the home of her brother-in-law, William L. Keese, aged 35. a bookkeeper, and sister, Helen K. Keese, aged 30, and their children, Edmund W. Keese, aged 10, and William L. Keese, aged 3, with her mother, Cornelia Thorne, aged 71, her sister, Julia Thorne, aged 20,. and domestic, Margaret Powers, aged 28.

Obituary - Thorne- At the home of her sister, Longwood, Suffolk County, L.I., on September 28, 1914, Mary M., daughter of the late Henry Mitchel and Cornelia Kelsey Thorne. Funeral services at the St. Paul's Church, Flatbush, on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

Will of Mary M. Thorne - I, Mary M. Thorne, do make this my last will and testament.
I give to my sister, Helen K. Keese my diamond cross during her life and at her death to go to my niece, Helen Tangier Smith.
I also give to my sister, Helen K. Keese, my five shares of stock of Bank of New York
I give to my sister, Cornelia T. Smith, my pearl and diamond pin, and at her death to go my niece Hilda K. Keese.
I give to my niece, Helen Tangier Smith, tortoise shell and gold pin, also all my Dutchess lace.
I give to my great-niece, Marjorie L. Keese, my gold and enamel pin.
I give to my great-niece, Helen Frances Keese, my gold thimble and my silver buckle.
I give to my cousin, Helen H. Mann, my tortoise shell and gold bracelet.
I leave with my will a list of things which I desire my executor to distribute as I have written.
I hereby appoint William Sidney Smith to be my executor of this my last will and testament. In witness thereof I have this day set my hand and seal this day, February 24th, 1913.

...William Sidney Smith, who resides at Yaphank, County of Suffolk and late of New York, alleges that he is the executor named in the Last Will and Testament of Mary M. Thorne, late of the County of Kings, deceased.
That the said deceased resided at the time of her death at No. 755 Ocean Avenue and died at Yaphank, Suffolk County on the 28th day of September, 1914.
That said last Will and Testament was made at the City of New York and relates to Personal Property and bears the date the 24th day of February, 1913, and was signed by Nellie Marvin Peet and Florence M. Perkins, who both reside at 755 Ocean Avenue, Brooklyn, N.Y.
That the Petitioner does not know of any other Will or of any Codicil to said Will of or any other instrument purporting to be such, nor is there any to petitioner's best information and belief.
That deceased left no husband.
That all heirs at law and all the next of kin are as follows to wit;
Helen K. Keese, a sister of the deceased, who resides at 755 Ocean Avenue, Brooklyn;
Cornela T. Smith, a sister of the deceased, who resides at Yaphank, Suffolk County, N.Y.;
Henry Thorne, a brother of the deceased, who resides at #680 Tenth Street, Brooklyn
That the names and post-office addresses of the legatees, devisees, executors in the said will or any other will filed in the Surrogate's Office, Kings County, other than persons named above and are not heirs at law or next of kin of the deceased are as follows;
William Sidney Smith, Executor, who resides at Yaphank, Suffolk County, N.Y.;
Hilda W. Keene, who resides at 330 West 95th Street, New York City;
Marjorie L. Keese, who resides at 330 West 95th Street, New York City;
Helen Francis Keese, who resides at 330 West 95th Street, New York City;
Helen Tangier Smith, who resides at Yaphank, Suffolk County, N.Y.;
Helen H. Mann, who resides at 37 Glen Byron Ave., South Nyack, New York
